Every now and again a book will grab you and pull you in, The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry is this type of book. You don't want to like Mr. Fikry. He's prickly, self-centered, and very opinionated, but he's a great bookseller, a wonderful friend, and an amazing father. I enjoyed watching Mr. Fikry become a "father" and grow into a person you have to like and admire. I absolutely loved the notes on various books inserted between the chapters. Yes, the story has a sad ending but this is one book that lived up to the hype.
